GRADE: MORTH & BS

  • Reflective thermoplastic marking material is recommended for use with the thermoplastic screed application prams, motorised marking machines etc. These products of reflective screed are ideal for high output marking on highways.
Thermoplastics has been the preferred marking material since long in many countries such as the USA, UK, Europe and Japan where its performance and cost-effectiveness have proved its benefits. In India, liquid paint is fast being replaced by high performance thermoplastic road makings which have better physico-mechanical properties and more durability as compare to the commonly used liquid paints.
  • SPECIFICATION AS PER BS: 3262 with White Reflective and Yellow Reflective
  • SPECIFICATION AS PER MORTH: 803.4 with White Reflective and Yellow Reflective

METHOD OF APPLICATION

PROCESS CONDITIONS

  • Road Temperature: Ambient Safe
  • Heating Temperature: 190– 220°C
  • Optimum Heating Temperature: 190°C (+ /- 10°C)

Before application, the surface should be thoroughly dry free from dust, rust, moisture, grease, oil, loose particles or earlier coatings. Surface should be ready after all repair work like joints, sealing, filling or cracks, cavities and crevices should be carried out with appropriate materials. The material should be applied on the surface through road making Machine. The preheated material is transferred into the machines. It reaches the surface by gravity. There after, glass beads can be super imposed through a dispenser or manual spray for reflectivity. Alternately, the material can be screeded/extruded out from a larger motorized machine as well. Normal application thickness is 2.5 mm as per MORTH specifications. The use of a suitable primer is recommended when thermoplastic road marking material is to be applied to concrete surfaces

PACKAGING

Supplied in aggregate form, the material is packed in PE bags or special packaging as per requirement. Standard pack size is 25 Kg. in PE bag.

STORAGE

This material is best kept at ambient conditions in a cool, dry and well ventilated in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. The shelf life of the product in the above mentioned conditions is up to one year approximately.
